Autostart#
Updated October 15, 2026 For installers
Pins 7–10 of connector X2 are multi-purpose LIN buses (LIN 1 – LIN 4). Their function depends on the car make and model selected on the configuration website. To start the engine automatically through these pins, the security system intervenes in the immobilizer communication line.
Before connecting#
- On the configuration website, select the Car brand, Car model and Configuration.
- Check that autostart is supported: the car has an Autostart tab.
- See the connection points for the specific car on the Connection points and Autostart tabs.
Toyota / Lexus (IMO/IMI circuit)#
Autostart works through the IMO and IMI immobilizer lines between the Engine ECM and the ID Code Box (Immobiliser).
| X2 pin | Color | Line | Connect to |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | White | LIN 2 | IMO line, without cutting it |
| 9 | Gray/yellow | LIN 3 | IMI line, ID Code Box side |
| 10 | Gray/black | LIN 4 | IMI line, Engine ECM side |
| 6 | Green/red | 330 mA output (+) | STA input of the Certification ECU (starter) |
- Connect the IMO line to pin 8 without cutting it.
- Cut the IMI line between the Engine ECM and the ID Code Box. Connect the ID Code Box side to pin 9 and the Engine ECM side to pin 10.
- Connect output 6 to the STA input of the Certification ECU.
Hyundai#
Autostart works through the immo K-line immobilizer line between the Engine ECM and the IBU. Besides the LIN pins, Hyundai uses four more X2 outputs: starter, accessories and two ignition circuits.
| X2 pin | Color | Line | Connect to |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | Gray/black | LIN 4 | Immo K-line, Engine ECM side |
| 9 | Gray/yellow | LIN 3 | Immo K-line, IBU side |
| 6 | Green/red | 330 mA output (+) | STARTER — starter |
| 3 | Yellow | 330 mA output (+) | ACC — accessories |
| 2 | Yellow/red | 330 mA output (+) | IGN2 — ignition 2 |
| 1 | Yellow/black | 1500 mA output (+) | IGN1 — ignition 1 |
- Cut the immo K-line wire between the Engine ECM and the IBU. Connect the Engine ECM side to pin 10 and the IBU side to pin 9.
- Connect outputs 6, 3, 2 and 1 to the starter, accessories, ignition 2 and ignition 1 circuits.
How the immobilizer line break works#
In both circuits, the immobilizer line is cut and routed to pins 9 and 10: the IMI line on Toyota / Lexus, the immo K-line on Hyundai.
Inside the unit, there is a normally closed optocoupler relay between pins 9 and 10. While autostart isn't running, the relay connects the cut ends and the immobilizer line works as standard. The unit opens the line only for the duration of autostart.
Without power, the line stays closed
The relay is normally closed: if the unit loses power (the fuse is removed or connector X1 with power is disconnected), the line ends stay connected. The engine starts with the standard key as usual.
Don't disconnect connector X2
The relay is inside the unit. If connector X2 is disconnected, nothing connects the cut ends of the line and the engine won't start. Before removing the unit, restore the immobilizer line wire first.
After connecting#
- On the Autostart tab, click Teach… and follow the steps on the screen. See Configuration website for details.
- Turn on the Autorun permission parameter so the owner can start the engine from the app.
